Yours for Children, Inc. supports licensed child care providers with professional training, the Child and Adult Care Food Program, and in-home support to enhance the quality of the child's care experience. Choosing a child care provider for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make as a parent. For the best results, carefully evaluate your child's needs as well as your own situation. Take the time to interview and visit all potential providers. Find the one who is most able to meet your needs.

Some questions you might want to ask a potential provider include:

Are you licensed by the Massachusetts Office of Child Care Services?
How long have you been providing care?
How many children are you licensed to care for?
What is your current enrollment?
What are your business hours?
Do you have a pool or pets?
Does anyone in the household smoke?
Which rooms are used for child care?
Are meals included?
Do you belong to a child care food program?
Is there a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment-both inside and outside?
Is television allowed?
How much per day?
Do you take the children shopping to the grocery store and on field trips?
Do the children play outside every day?
Do you have an approved assistant?
Do you have backup care-if so, who and are they licensed?
